Description
Even the largest vegetable gardens are easy to manage with the TEXAS TX612TG petrol tiller, equipped with a powerful engine and practical features that make it one of the best TEXAS tiller models. The unique double-shaft gearbox provides a dedicated reverse gear with two shafts, so each speed has its own axis, making the reverse more robust and reducing gear wear.
The TX612TG offers three adjustable working widths: 30 cm, 55 cm and up to 85 cm, allowing you to till large areas at once. With a working depth of up to 33 cm, it works the soil deeply. The tiller also has an adjustable handlebar that can pivot, allowing you to work close to walls or fences without interference. The TX612TG is a powerful rotavator and a top-of-the-range model in the TEXAS line.

The TX612TG is powered by a 212 cc engine, offering solid performance with two speeds – forward and reverse – making it easy to manoeuvre during use. The TX series operates at 110 rpm blade speed, less than the Lilli series, offering smoother operation that improves tiller control.
Built on a robust chassis and weighing 59.5 kg, this sturdy machine is very stable during operation. The reverse gear improves manoeuvrability, allowing you to free the tiller if it digs into the soil. The TX612TG also includes wide guards, ensuring that the blades remain covered even at half-width.
The handlebar can be turned and adjusted in height, allowing you to work close to walls or other obstacles without scraping. The ergonomic grips on the handlebar offer a comfortable experience, and with the integrated throttle control and forward/reverse functions, the tiller is easy to use. The TX612TG also has a bumper that doubles as a lifting handle for convenience.
The tiller is equipped with both depth skid wheels and transport wheels, which can be easily operated with a foot pedal to raise and lower them. The sturdy rear-mounted transport wheels make it easy to move the tiller by tipping it onto the handlebar.

The machine is delivered without oil.
TEXAS recommends using 98/100 unleaded petrol (also called E5) for all our petrol engines, even if the manual specifies 95 unleaded petrol (E10).
This recommendation is due to changes since 1st January 2020, when 95 unleaded petrol (E10) began to contain 10% bioethanol instead of the previous 5%. The increased bioethanol content attracts condensation/water over time and shortens the shelf life of the fuel, which can lead to poorer combustion and starting problems.
5 Tips for Tilling
1 | Ensure the soil is not too wet when tilling, as this would only create large clumps of earth.
2 | Till the soil sufficiently, but not too much. Soil clumps should be about the size of a walnut and at least the size of a pea, providing ideal porosity for plants.
3 | You can till in dry and hard soil, but this may require going over the soil twice.
4 | Check the weather forecast; if frost is expected, wait before tilling.
5 | Use safety equipment, as a tiller is a powerful machine and in case of an accident, it's better to be properly protected.
